Midwest Eye Consultants’ doctors and staff not only provide eye care to dozens of communities throughout Indiana, but we also get involved in other ways. Through volunteer work, fundraising and sharing our eye care knowledge at health fairs, we enjoy every moment that we can make an impact on our communities.
Our Auburn doctors and staff recently participated in their local Lion’s Club golf outing and organized a corn hole fundraiser. They were able to raise money through this event to help provide some financial relief to the family of a toddler diagnosed with hepatoblastoma.
Another recent event that brought a community together was an American Cross Blood Drive at our Granger location. Staff and doctors all got involved and rallied together to emphasize the importance of giving blood and the impact it can make on saving lives. This event brought in 29 successful donors. Just one donation has the potential to save three lives!
The doctors and staff of Midwest Eye Consultants – Michigan City participated in their local high school’s color run. This run was not only a fun and colorful experience, but they were able to support the school by including a sponsorship.
There are so many more events that we could share! Throughout the first half of 2016, Midwest Eye Consultants practices have participated in more than 45 eye on community opportunities and have given dozens of donations and sponsorships to organizations in their communities.
Not only do we make an impact on our communities here in Indiana, our doctors also complete mission trips and volunteer opportunities in other states and countries. Most recently, Dr. Norrick, who practices at our Angola and Auburn locations, took a medical brigade military mission to West Memphis, Arkansas. The military group of optometrists he joined saw more than 1,100 patients and Dr. Norrick was awarded the Army Achievement Medal. We are thankful for his service, both to our country and to all of the people who had the privilege of receiving his superior eye care!
