Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause blindness. If caught early it can usually be controlled.
Glaucoma does not have symptoms and usually begins when pressure builds up in the eye. This pressure damages the optic nerve.
Treatment can prevent or limit vision loss from glaucoma. The goal of treatment is to control glaucoma by lowering eye pressure. Your Midwest Eye Consultants doctor may recommend medication or procedures to help prevent vision loss from glaucoma.
